Times will vary depending upon the size of the chicken and some other variables as well such as whether the chicken is stuffed or not. For a whole fryer weighing three to four pounds you will need to cook it between 1 1/4 hours to 1 3/4 hours if it is stuffed or between 1 hour and 1 1/4 hours if it is not stuffed. Whole Cornish hens (typically only weight about 18 to 24 ounces) and will normally cook in 50 to 70 minutes if stuffed, and 35 to 40 minutes if not stuffed. If you are just cooking single chicken pieces times will be less. For example, a half chicken breast (boneless) will require about 25 to 30 minutes whereas a bone-in chicken breast will likely take about 10 minutes longer – 35 to 45 minutes. Drumsticks usually take about 40 to 50 minutes, wings 35 to 45 minutes and legs or thighs approximately 40 to 50 minutes.
